Interactive Experiential Interface
Netafim - Agritech Exhibition
Background – As part of the launch of the world's first digital irrigation system, NetBeat by Netafim, and its presentation at Agritech (the largest agricultural exhibition in Israel, attracting tens of thousands of visitors from about 100 countries), we were tasked with creating an experience that simulates the system and its use throughout the entire growth period. The system in practice monitors, analyzes, and automates the necessary operations to achieve the most successful yield.
The Challenge – Making the system, the technology, and its complexities accessible in a clear, fast, experiential, and attractive way so that visitors can easily and quickly understand the system's potential. Due to the complexity of the actual system, on one hand, a large number of elements and components were needed in the interface, and on the other hand, it was also necessary to blur the overload with the UI design.
The Solution – An interface delivered as a game displayed on a large touch screen. In the game, users plant the crop they choose, complete tasks related to the system such as changing irrigation times, adding fertilizers, setting automatic actions, and more. The planting is done in a dynamic environment of a "virtual agricultural field" that changes over time and grows according to success in the game, weather conditions, and more. The interface was displayed and adapted to four languages: Hebrew, English, Chinese, and Spanish to ensure that visitors from all over the world could understand the system and its potential clearly. The inspiration for the changing interface design comes from the worlds of weather and agriculture, reflected in the iconic language, dynamic backgrounds, and elements that make up the various tasks.
